Poi vi sono quelle composizioni ex-novo che, tuttavia, si rifanno agli artisti ed ai generi musicali allora imperanti, ed amati dai quattro, come gli Everly Brothers (Love Me Do e Please, Please Me), Dylan (You've Got To Hide Your Love Away), Buddy Holly (decine di canzoni), Little Richard (I Saw Her Standing There), Carl Perkins e il Rockabilly (All My Loving, She's A Woman) e i Beach Boys (Paperback Writer e Help) per i quali i Beatles provavano una sorta di venerazione-ossessione.
